If you’re wondering what the Fabulous Women are doing for Christmas this year……hold onto your Santa hats because sparkle and magic are about to hit Petaluma! This little black Random Acts of Kindness book was put on the windshield of a board member’s car. Well, we all fell in love with the idea and the joy that it inspired.
The “Pay It Forward” idea isn’t new, but the book idea is simply brilliant! That’s why we are multiplying this little book into 200 additional books. Yes, we are covering the city of Petaluma with these festive gifts.
Imagine finding one on your windshield or in your mailbox, you’ll then have the chance to spread kindness and cheer to another unsuspecting person in the community.
Here’s another exciting twist, the person that gets a book around December 20th will be asked to make a small donation to help a special family in need this holiday. Local mom, Lindsey Lugo is on a waiting list for a lung transplant. The cards or cash donated on the 20th will support her family that could use a little extra love. She has two sweet boys under the age of ten. The idea of preparing for holidays is challenging because medical bills are a real challenge.
We hope the books travel all over the community inspiring acts of love and meaningful connections. It’s a little like finding the lucky “Golden Ticket in a Willy WONKA Bar.” You could wait for a book……or you can just get started on spreading cheer on your own.
This Kindness Campaign will culminate on 12-20-15 at Mr. Pickles where we will have a donation drop off for the Lugo Family from 11:00 – 2:00PM. Financial donations, toys, gas cards, and food cards will be gratefully accepted. Santa will also be there to take pictures from 12:00 – 2:00PM. That is the final day to return the books. We look forward to collecting the wonderful kindness journals and see all the beautiful entries . It will be awesome and joyful to see how these books have inspired community kindness.
